From my window, I can see San Francisco shimmering across the Bay. At this distance, the city gathers itself into a mysterious constellation of geometric forms, continually altered by shifting light. Its softened palette of dusty blues and greys, and the distilled simplicity of its contours, often calls to mind the quiet elegance of Giorgio Morandi's still-life paintings.
