Concrete and Board

After working with the delicacy of paper for so long, I longed to engage with a denser material. I began pouring lightweight concrete into rectangular steel frames and creating abstract compositions imbedding a variety of materials into the still-wet matrix. The shift from paper to concrete allowed me to explore weight, texture, and permanence in new ways—sculptural paintings that held both surface and depth. Building on the large concrete works, I turned to board, distilling and reworking key motifs—most notably the circle within the square. On these surfaces, I applied metallic powders and pigments, allowing material, geometry, and light to interact in a more concentrated and intimate way.
